Jews and Chinese Food
Apparently, New York Jews love Chinese food. I've heard this for years and the link above tells you why it is so.

Yes, you could find Jewish neighbourhoods in NY by looking for the Chinese take-out places. Then came along "Moshe Peking" the first kosher chinese restaurant in NY. It spawned many more. The one that is popular now is: Chosen Village which is a take off on the "Chosen" people and the name Cho-Sun.
NY...It has its own Chinese and Italian style food, which is nothing like the food from China or Italy. Go figure!
